The main difference between the two is how far back from the screen the camera needs to be to see the whole projected image on the screen. When matched with a projector with the same throw ratio the camera and projector can be placed at the same distance from the screen making for a cleaner and simpler setup.
*Please note that the camera does not have to sit with the projector for the system to work. It is just a cleaner setup if they match.
