There are several things that we have come across that will cause the Smokeless Range to not launch. Try the following fixes to see if it fixes your problem.

No Audio Device

This issue usually only applies to a desktop since laptops have built-in speakers. If there is no playback device such as speakers or headphones connected to your desktop this will cause our audio driver to crash. You will know this is the issue if you see the red X on the speaker icon in the system tray as pictured below. Simply connect a set of speakers or headphones to the PC's speaker port and the issue should resolve.

Update your Video card Driver
The main reason the Smokeless Range will not run is an old video card driver. The Smokeless Range uses some of the latest features of the OpenGL graphics engine. If your graphics card driver is several years old it most likely does not support some of the features we use.

If you double-click on the Smokeless Range icon on the desktop and the screen flashes black for a second and then goes back to the desktop this is most likely your problem.

To fix the problem, update your graphics card drivers to the latest version and reboot your PC. Then try launching the Smokeless Range.
If you have an Intel HD graphics card then you should go to your computer manufacturers website (i.e. HP or Dell) and locate the downloads page for your model. You should find the graphics driver there. If you have an NVIDIA or ATI graphics card, you can go directly to their website and download the latest driver for your graphics card model.

Default Video Card Driver
If you upgraded your PC to Windows 10 you may need to update your video card driver. It is possible that either your current video card driver is not compatible with Windows 10 or Windows installed a generic driver that is not compatible with our software and needs to be updated to the latest video card driver.

Update Windows 8 to Windows 8.1

How to Update from 8 to 8.1

Your Antivirus is blocking the Smokeless Range from opening
Some Antivirus programs will block the Smokeless Range from opening. If you launch the Smokeless Range and it tries to open but then crashes giving an error that Menu.exe crashed, this might be the problem.

Every antivirus has a way to manually add an exception to a program to allow it to run. Every antivirus is different so you will need to consult your Antivirus support to find out how to add the exception.

ESET NOD32 is a particularly troublesome Antivirus for the Smokeless Range. If you have the NOD32 antivirus you will need to add a rule to the HIPS portion of the NOD32 antivirus.
